ABSTRACT
A Web based computer configuration system is a system which enables computer users either individuals or companies who want to purchase computer systems to make specifications of various computer parts of their choice on the Internet before purchase. This is a means to provide the customers the opportunity to define the product of their interest from different locations using Internet facilities The rapid growth in network applications and Internet based service delivery such as e-business has added more interests in the design and implementation of such systems. The major focus of this paper is on the design and implementation of a web-based system that allows customers from different geographical locations to choose computer accessories for purchase online. This is an implementation of e-commerce applications using OMATEK Computers, an indigenous computer company factory as a case study. The system provides the company some privileges to reach wider interests with their products. To accomplish this objective we use a three-tier architecture and incremental process model.
